My name is Hannah Deacon and I'm a Registered Dietitian (RD), Personal Trainer (CPT) and Author from Edmonton, Alberta.
I completed my undergrad at the U of A in 2013 and became a Dietitian in 2014. I started my career working as a dietitian at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. I am very passionate about helping people develop a healthy relationship with food, manage emotional eating, lose weight and improve sports performance. Thus inspiring me to start my private practice, “Hannah Deacon - Dietitian and Fitness Coach” almost 4 years ago. I believe in continuing growth and education, therefore, I am also currently studying to become specialized as a Certified Sports Dietitian next year. In addition, I taught Nutrition for Lung Health for 4 years at the Edmonton General Hospital and also taught the Applied Nutrition Science course at Elevated Learning Academy. I am also a Craving Change™ Facilitator, which uses cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) strategies to address emotional eating as well as behaviour change to enhance success.
When I first started my practice, people would tell me that they struggled to find quick and healthy recipe options. This inspired me to create and publish my very own cookbook “Wellness on a Plate: When Healthy Meets Quick”.
I love salsa dancing, weightlifting, hiking, cooking and believe in growth each day. I strive to become better each day so I can impact more lives positively. My background as someone who struggled with weight and emotional eating as a teenage athlete and finding the balance and solutions as an adult allows me to understand what it’s like to be in your shoes. I believe that anything is possible once you set your mind to it and I’m here to show you how.
If you need any help with your health, diet or fitness goals, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and I would be happy to speak with you!
